In the wake of their decision to cancel their planned HQ2 in New York, many feared Amazon would give up on growing their presence in the city. Data collected from their jobs site suggests exactly the opposite:
Amazon has been steadily adding new positions in New York over the past month
In the span of just a month, there has been a net addition of over 100 job listings on Amazon's New York jobs site, about a 15% increase.
Jobs have been added across all departments
While a majority of the new job listings fall under Amazon Web Services, new positions have been added across all major departments.
Technical roles make up a majority of the new job listings
Software developers make up the largest share of new positions, and a significant number of product management and solutions architect roles were added as well.
